Just saw SUPERMAN for a second time. Girlfriend loved it. I feel much the same way I did the first time, but man, those highs are HIGH. So many parts of the movie just feel really good. Can't wait to get more, I think we might get a SPIDER-MAN 2 with what comes next.

This is nonsense. You can't directly adjust international numbers for inflation, it's a completely different market (China is seriously depressed), we're not in a post-AVENGERS comic book movie boom, and SUPERMAN doesn't have THE DARK KNIGHT's name all over the marketing.
DC’s new SUPERMAN needs to hit $900M worldwide. That’s the number. It hits that, and you can’t argue it’s success. For those keeping track…2013’s MAN OF STEEL swooped up $924M adjusted for inflation.

To my eyes SUPERMAN is looking like a $51-55M Friday, including previews/Prime shows. Low end of that would be around $110M for the weekend, potential to hit $130M if families really turn out.
Update - the floor has risen, but looking mostly like a $110m-$120m 3-day opening for @Superman . Ticket sales accelerated somewhat after reviews, but nothing approaching the $130m-$170m that others have put out.
