Wrote in detail about my thesis on making distraction free ambient computers. We need a paradigm shift from computing that's designed to maximize engagement to computing that's designed to help us achieve our goals as fast as possible! https://t.co/lkruORsZze

Really crazy to watch CS degrees go from "do this if you want to get rich" to "degree in artisanal furniture-making" in one generation. The transition is not complete and won't be for years, but the direction is clear when top software engs are writing tweets like this.
@sergeykarayev Hah I was just thinking about the same analogy. How I suddenly feel about all of the code I've written so far

Lego Smart Play would be so much of a bigger deal if it allowed people to build compatible bricks.

#WATCH | Surat, Gujarat | ICC Chairman Jay Shah says, "The Prime Minister has brought the Commonwealth Games to India in 2030, but we shouldn't stop there. We must also bring the Olympics here in 2036. We won eight medals in the 2024 Olympics, but I want to tell you all that

Have you tried using Claude Code for UIKit projects? It's made 50 edits just to change the size of a modal. 🤦♂️

Love this. Lego at the forefront of the Tangible UI revolution.
LEGO is launching the most ambitious brick it’s ever made: a tiny computer that fits entirely inside a classic 2x4 LEGO brick. It will make entire LEGO sets come to life — with humming lightsabers, roaring engines, light-up blasters, and more

Writing a post on Designing Emerging Technologies with a self imposed challenge: Not to mention AI, ML, VR, XR, or AR in the examples or otherwise. And I’m doing pretty good on that so far.

Of all pursuits, the pursuit of immortality has to be the most naive of them all. What a meaningless, childish notion to life.

India deciding that two hostile neighbours aren’t enough and actively manufacturing a third one because the BJP voters need to be kept in a perpetual state of hysterical outrage is where we are today

Tips on how to optically center a glyphs. Most common example is the play button but this applies to any glyph where the centroid is not the same as the center of the bounding rectangle.

In a few years, we’ll look back and not understand how we used to eat out without any idea of how many calories the meal had.

IDK what to make of this Year in Review. I like my detailed year in review way better. https://t.co/cBoaSKvUly

Most people mistake this augmentation to be possible only through a see through screen (or glasses). When in reality, true augmentation can be achieved through many different media (multi sensory devices). It doesn’t have to look like another computer on my body.

What I mean is, you don’t need to emulate paper if you can get the computing bits on a real paper. That’s augmentation. Or You don’t need to recreate a map, if you can get directions dynamically in the real world.

A little on point 2. Much of computing history is dominated by emulating the real world to a screen based computing paradigm because that’s what was possible at that time. AR presents an alternative vision. It says reality can also be augmented rather than simply emulating.
