Thrilling Grieg Piano Concerto by 16-year-old Anton and @LyricChOrch last night in Dartmouth. As his teacher for the last year, I couldn’t be more proud of his achievement. 🎹

And it’s done! Enlightened and exhausted after a week of recording over 80 minutes of music by Charles Villiers Stanford for what will be my first CD recording, released by @naxosrecords Huge thanks to Mike Purton and the @rncmlive team their support. To be released in 2025!

Happy to have been able to dash to @MHCentre today between recording sessions to hear my first MMus Performance at @OfficialUoM students give their final performances! Good luck to both students who now go back to their home country to share their knowledge with young people.

Just finished Day 1 of my first CD recording! What an incredible opportunity to be able to record in this very special @rncmlive concert hall on the fantastic @SteinwayAndSons piano.

Busy couple of weeks ahead but so looking forward to hearing my student Anton perform Grieg PC with @LyricChOrch on 14th September in Dartmouth. What an exciting piece to play as your first concerto! Many thanks to pianist Matt Lam for his help with the final run through.

So good to play with violinist Rosa Hartley who I met in IMS Prussia Cove in 2022. Bach then we sight-read through quintets by Franck and Fauré late into nights! No sight reading this time but looking forward to playing some Rachmaninoff and Bottesini together tomorrow evening

Fantastic concert at @ManCathedral from @SlaithwaitePhil and @stgeorgessinger playing three works I had never heard live before: Poulenc Gloria, Scriabin Poem of Ectasy and Janacek Glagolitic Mass. Such wonderful and colourful music.
