Congrats! This award is so well-deserved! Summer is the best - she runs the trains and is the face of UNC Biology for our many, many undergraduates. I was privileged to work with her for 5 yrs (while chair) - she never complained and was always smiling. A treasure!.

We're honored to have such an amazing trailblazer in the vascular biology field. Nice that she is now getting recognition for her many contributions and perseverance - I read several of her papers/monographs early in my career and was inspired!.
Dr. Florence Sabin was a pioneering vascular biologist. She achieved many firsts – including first woman elected to Nat’l Acad. of Sci., and first woman named full professor at John Hopkins SOM. Dr. Sabin’s legacy continues to inspire #womeninstem. #WomensHistoryMonth #HERstory
