On the same day that weβre talking about code sharing and open science ( https://t.co/M3tC46G0WT), these menstrual cycle models are a great example of researchers publishing carefully developed, working models that enable others to test, re-use, and build upon their work.

Itβs true - there are sets of equations that describe key features of the menstrual cycle well, and credit for them goes to years of hard work by researchers like James Selgrade (@NCState), Erica Graham (@BrynMawrCollege), Mette Olufsen (@NCState), and others.

Huge thanks to @blkwomencompbio for hosting @PLOSCompBiol editors and staff for this workshop; we had a great session discussing the review process, cover letters, how to suggest appropriate reviewers, how to interpret reviews, and how to revise papers & respond to critiques.

If attending #BMES2021 (or other virtual conferences with no captioning), Chrome has a live captioning option: Settings > Advanced > Accessibility > Live Caption. Quite good, and captions stay on top as you Alt-Tab to other windows (read their papers while you watch their talks!)
For the #BMES2021 virtual site, it seems captioning is not available for the live/plenary sessions. @BMESDiversity can this feature be added? At a minimum the recordings should be captioned once available, but in 2021 we shouldn't be having talks broadcast without captioning
