Sincere thanks to all those that gave input to this @WHO document, which builds on the momentum from COVID-19 pathogen genomic data sharing, laying out equity, capacity development, and timeliness considerations. Collaboration is central to science and public health.
Sharing of pathogen genome data is critical for preventing, detecting & responding to epidemics. After wide consultation, @WHO has published new guiding principles with a focus on the collaboration being ethical, equitable, effective & beneficial for all .

#OpenScience could be fantastic if implemented well. #Equity is central. Open Science doesn't necessarily enhance equity and could even compound inequities if done wrong. Interesting perspective @doctorsoumya.

Before you volunteer for a clinical trial ask two questions: will the data and results be made available to the scientific community in a timely manner? and will the intervention being trialed be accessible based on need rather than ability to pay?.
