EMS Crew Shoutout! Medic 2 resuscitated a critically ill baby girl who came into the world sooner than expected. Thanks to their care, the baby was stabilized. Deputy Chief Tremel presented Crew Chief Fisher and Paramedic Scherba with commendations for their excellent care.

EMS Crew Shoutout! In August, the crews of Medic 9 and Rescue 1 delivered a baby boy who came into the world sooner than expected. Today, Chief Gilchrist presented the crews with commendations for their excellent care of a mother and newborn child in the prehospital setting.

EMS is conducting an active shooter response training at the Convention Center from 12-4 p.m. There's a significant public safety presence inside the building, with simulated gunfire and patients. This is only a training exercise, and there is no active threat to the public.

UPDATE: All occupants have been accounted for and there are no reported injuries at this time. @PittsburghOEMHS is assisting with immediate needs with assistance from the @RedCross and @SalvationArmyPA. The fire is not yet contained. Please continue to avoid the area.
