We could invent the term "surgeon thinking" and offer a set of steps that brain surgeons follow, but, unlike with "design thinking", few would believe that knowing the steps alone gives you the abilities and experience of a surgeon. #designmtw

Not just #improv but improvisational #jazz is analogous to #collaboration. #improvisationaljazz evolved from people with intense creative need for novel patterns to express nuanced ideas. Probably people with #ADHD. ADHD is collaboration's friend. Formulaic solutions are not!

Longer I "design" the less the material I design with is visual. Visual design ~10%. 90% of *Visible* design is made of everything else: designing useful data, user data, performance, structure, architecture, layering, systematizing and arguing for it all to work how people do.
