So Tim Kurkjian just implied that Edwin Diaz struggles were due to the MLB ban on sticky stuff (wrong as that ban goes back to June 2021) and the MLB pitch clock (perhaps, but not totally new to him). How about the fact that he tore the lower part of his thigh in half? Terrible.

As an MD I fought COVID in NYC face to face. Almost everyone had a mask on here and it was outdoors. Can’t say no risk but masks decrease transmission. This was no bike rally by any means.

I did this once at a Mets game and I’m a Mets fan. It took me 50 years to get a foul ball in the stands. I got one and I just reflexively gave it to a small kid with a glove. It’s a kid’s game and the smile on his face and the applause from the crowd made my day even more.

I can’t get on Alvarez and Baty. Those kids were not supposed to come up & carry this team. They were supposed to support an already productive lineup. Now almost every game they are playing, they are being asked to do the dramatic. The underperforming vets are mostly to blame.

have already played their worst baseball of the season. Alvy is coming back. Peterson looks healthy. Vientos is looking better at the plate & in the field. Torrens can throw people out & play the IF and Diaz will be healthier. So let’s make a run shall we?

As a RB in the NFL never take for granted the money you are earning. It is a demanding position in a brutal sport. This guy lost millions. Over time even if put $ in a conservative investment startegy he lost even more. His ego got in the way of logic.

Edwin Diaz needs a break from closing games. He is absolutely killing us. As for returning to form, I think physically he is fine. This is probably more psychological than anything else. Sometimes a mental break can do wonders. I would go with Garrett for a bit.

miss the playoffs, think of all the games Vogelbach started at DH, all the games Vientos stayed on the bench and all the games where Mauricio was stuck in the minors. This team is operationally being mismanaged and it’s an embarrassment. This is like the Black Sox.

Is it just me or was Severino really a victim of bad luck. Yes, Hoskins had his number but had Short made that easy play at 3B, then the inning would’ve ended. Some of those hits were not scorched. Also, his defense let him down at times. I think he will bounce back next start.

I think Brett Baty will be an OK MLB player just not in New York. Just too much scrutiny. Seattle, KC, Milwaukee. He needs to play in a city like that. This city is tough and the Mets fanbase is restless. Kudos to Vientos for picking up his game and silencing his many critics.
