Andrej Karpathy calls AI Agents slop "Overall, the models they are not there. And I feel like the industry [...] it's making too big of a jump and it's trying to pretend that this is amazing. And it's not—it's slop! And I think they are not coming to terms with it. And maybe

i think the increasingly pervasive idea that effort is what legitimizes art breaks down when you consider that the best conceptual artists often actively aim to obfuscate how much effort goes into producing theirs

*sniff* *pulls shirt* You know, this is perfect - *gestures wildly* - this is the ultimate perversity of capitalism at its purest. Here we have Anthropic, this company claiming to build "AI for humanity," and what do they do? They create this digital cocaine, this Claude Code,
We’re rolling out new weekly rate limits for Claude Pro and Max in late August. We estimate they’ll apply to less than 5% of subscribers based on current usage.

This happened and happens everywhere while a friend doing it is probably the hardest to stomach, it’s done corporate entities too. Education needs to catch up and get artist ready for how the commercial world works I think . And should have been for a long time .

In this case if this is true the friend wasn’t able to do it on her own ,as soon as they where they did it . It’s the friend that is the culprit here not the technology. ->

AI is a good mechanism to get eyes on this story but what is really important and around for a long time is , you need contracts whatever you do . ->

We built an AI model to simulate how a fruit fly walks, flies and behaves – in partnership with @HHMIJanelia. 🪰 Our computerized insect replicates realistic motion, and can even use its eyes to control its actions. Here’s how we developed it – and what it means for science. 🧵

@DavidSHolz Slop is the absence of new thought. It’s in all data — the best of data especially. It’s the reliance on it that we call slop. Slop is having learned too much relative to how little you can think.
