Buachaille Etive More glowing red as the Aurora hit its peak and the sky lit up Red yesterday evening. The snow turned back to white after about 15 minutes. The Aurora extended far across the sky and this was looking south (obviously usually see it looking north! #aurora #glencoe

Ever think about the immense dimensions of #aurora? The blue/purple aurora that we all saw on 10-11 May 2024 reached 700-900 km high, maybe more (potentially a lot more). That's the size of some countries! Nearly 100x as high as airliners! 6-9 hrs by car. Huge!
