Morning all... ✅ The countdown for the launch chronology for @ariane5 #VA260 started a few hours ago at 0:200 CEST. The @ESA_JUICE spacecraft was switched on and first checks made. Weather check and Go/NoGo for fuelling coming up (pic: ESA/CNES/Arianespace/ OptiqueVidéoCSG)

a robot takes a picture of a helicopter on another planet then sends the picture to a spacecraft orbiting the planet which sends it to giant antennas on our planet and they put it up on a network that spans the globe

We are going. For the first time, the @NASA_SLS rocket and @NASA_Orion fly together. #Artemis I begins a new chapter in human lunar exploration.

I’ve seen Star Trek don’t want to be in the red crew next to the thing that is a controlled explosion maker
We have stopped flow of liquid hydrogen to the core stage due to an intermittent leak on the replenish valve. Teams are discussing a plan to send out the 'red crew' to the pad to torque packing nuts at the base of the mobile launcher.

Sunday morning reading from @rezaaslan. I’m always fascinated by the early cultural exchanges between the US and Iran, and I’m looking forward to reading about Baskerville’s role.

Since we reduced the orbital period of Dimorphos by 32 minutes, I just imagine little microbes being like “it just feels like I have so much less time in the day” to each other
It worked! Analysis of data obtained over the past two weeks by our #DARTMission investigation team shows the spacecraft's kinetic impact with its target asteroid successfully made a small change to the asteroid’s orbit. See what we're learning so far: https://t.co/5VZRFoZmkX

If you haven’t caught what’s going on, Iranians are fighting for rights many of us take for granted, and freedom from an oppressive government
Iranian schoolgirls remove their head coverings and chant "woman, life, freedom" outside school today on day 17 of protests across Iran over the death of #MahsaAmini in morality police custody for "improper hijab". #مهسا_امینی https://t.co/piam5SUmd3

My grandma died peacefully last week in Iran, but she was a fierce, zero f’s given, funny woman. She would have been out there giving hell this week in Iran. This struggle for fundamental rights for autonomy is all of our struggle. #MashaAmini

Amazing. Cannot wait to go back with @EuropaClipper.
A very early and preliminary version of Europa image PJ45_1 obtained by @NASAJuno earlier today (Sept 29, 2022). This shouldn't be very far from Europa's true color; I expect to improve the color later with more careful processing though. North is up.

IMPACT SUCCESS! Watch from #DARTMIssion’s DRACO Camera, as the vending machine-sized spacecraft successfully collides with asteroid Dimorphos, which is the size of a football stadium and poses no threat to Earth.

Go DART Go! Less than an hour away, a now autonomous NASA DART is processing its own images to steer itself into asteroid Dimorphos.

Just a couple of hours until we smash the spacecraft into the smaller asteroid so we can watch the impacts of its new orbit on the bigger asteroid (📸: @DLR_next)

🛰️ This is only a test – of planetary defense. Today, our #DARTMission is set to crash into a non-hazardous asteroid to test deflection technology, should we ever discover a threat. Impact: 7:14pm ET (23:14 UTC). Watch our LIVE broadcast at 6pm ET: https://t.co/VAfF5ZXcYB
