32 years ago today I ran away from violent home w my 3 small children to a @womensaid refuge. 6 months later I started a new life, got a council flat, studied maths at college, did a funded degree @lsbu, #CS #PhD, #OBE now Prof @durham_uni, 4 kids, 4 grandkids #livingthedream ❤️
I left school at 16, was in women’s refuge at 25 with 3 small children, went back to education at 26👩🎓 got degree in #computing 1993, #PhD in #softwareengineering 2001 and this week got a DSc award from @UniKent in #canterburycathedral ❤️💪🏽😍🎉 #livingthedream #youcandoit

Love this. @nicwhitton on setting up a reading group about play where it was more important to get people together in a room to talk about play rather than people having read the book. The rule was that if you hadn't read the book, you must *pretend* that you had. #puc19
