I'm guessing most people don't realize their physicians go home after work or post-call and have trouble sleeping. Not asking for sympathy, just saying, we toss and turn and ruminate about every decision we make at work. We really care about you. That's all.

Endless paperwork demands from disability forms, EAP drug approvals, private insurance drug requests, prescription renewals, work accomodation forms. All these needs time to complete - time that I spend away from seeing patients.

I diagnosed 64 yo ♀️ with psoriatic arthritis today. She thinks her disease started in her 20s but never diagnosed! 40 years later as we begin treatment, I wonder how much pain/suffering was preventable. We must do better for #arthrits care 🇨🇦 @ORAexec @ArthritisSoc

I agree with the sentiment however once compassion fatigue sets in from over-exposure to human suffering, not-feeling is a survival mechanism

Health workers are conditioned to suppress our emotions. It is for this reason that we must unapologetically FEEL things instead of pretending like we are not. We must celebrate every tear and every moment of sadness like they are revolutionary acts.

The airport was a ghost town. I dropped off my rental and navigated a labyrinth of moving metal and polished floors. I walked slowly, rolling my suitcase while adjusting my mask. I found security and was greeted by a gentleman who asked, “Do you have any liquids or gels sir?”

A disturbing new study reveals that, 30 years into the women’s movement, female executives still don’t have what they want—and probably never will.

Relieved to hear that the disturbing article is being taken retracted. Also glad to hear CMAJ wondering "how did we think publishing this was a good idea in the first place?"

CMAJ is formally retracting the letter by Dr. Emil, which did not contain appropriate subject matter for publication by the CMAJ. Read the full statement from @KirstyPatrick, interim editor-in-chief, CMAJ: https://t.co/EBVTaSenXb
