For the British children forcibly removed from UK childrens homes to the other side of the world two different reactions to official apologies. From the Australian Labor Government: a renewal of the apology. From the @UKLabour government: silence. This matters. Forgotten again.

We must keep saying again and again that Trump's rhetoric about Ukraine โ and Gaza โ is a tissue of lies and fantasies. There is no plausible mitigation for the president's language and for his apparent personal sympathy for the murderous Putin. ๐๐ผMax Hastings in @thetimes

@elonmusk @Keir_Starmer I investigate social media at the BBC. I've repeatedly asked you for an interview. You accuse the media of not holding power to account. I want to ask you questions about your site and its role fanning the flames of UK riots. Will you speak to me?@elonmusk

Itโs been so disturbing to watch scenes of violence over the last week. But this interview brings a small chink of hope in a dark time.

These mindless riots are doing untold damage to the UKโs reputation right across the world. And yet the secret sympathisers still say โOf course I disapprove of whatโs happening, butโฆโ And then they make the racistsโ case for them.

It's impossible to view the postings of Farage, without utter revulsion. He masquerades as a " reasoned commentator" on what he claims to be a national crisis linked to immigrants while claiming he deplores any lawlessness. Then he hints at more lawlessness if his warnings are

Very sad news. The brilliant BBC lawyer Roger Law has died. So many BBC producers & reporters will be eternally grateful to Roger for getting their films on air over last four decades. He was a legendary figure, perhaps the best-ever lawyer in history of broadcast journalism.

So reform - having campaigned on a platform of law and order - have somehow managed to blame the police for a riot in which fifty police officers were injured following viral disinformation which they propagated. Go figure.
