My column from the current @TheLeither, mostly about the wonderful @giantonbridge. Hope I captured some sense of it. Just skip past the indulgent writer schtick at the start if you prefer🙂. @SolareyeRaps @Raveloe2 @jill_lorean @AdmiralFallow @jo_mango.

When I was an English Lit student it would take me all day to come up with some mediocre observation about the life's work of Homer or Shakespeare, but I could genuinely give you 3000 words right now about all the differently brilliant aspects of this bit of writing.
UK rappers be like "I've got a posh flat and my bird is very comely, I own more motors than the marchioness of cholmondeley".

This is going to be like the Free Trade Hall all over again - a handful of people who were actually there, thousands more pretending they were there, and @marcrileydj nipping out for chips halfway through.
Pleasantly surprised by this… both shows on 24th March now SOLD OUT. Zoom tickets for evening show still available at . Thanks to @CCfunkandsoul for the time and laughs today. @BBC6Music @themarkrad 💥🚀 @Helen_ECW ❤️

Some musings from me for @TheLeither on two magnificent gigs by @delgados_the, eighteen years apart, and on the curious relationship between music and the march of time.

RT @pastels_the: What an incredible story. Not just one life, many. Amazing piece of research by Andrew Holter on Orange Juice's Zeke Manyi….

Reduced rations of Riley & Coe still way better than no rations at all. Will be lovely to have them back. And after years of their excellent but brief chats on Marc's show, looking forward to a full two hours of Chuckle Brothers-esque knockabout fun on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
10-Midnight Riley and Coe. Monday - @marcrileydj. Tues and Weds - "there's two of them." Thursday - Me. New records, not-so-new records, older records, ancient records. Records. Live Sessions. On 6music and BBC Soundlios. Deep joy. Hope you can join us.

RT @adamvirgs19: Thank you for this I haven’t seen it. It’s always a pleasure to be mentioned with great pundits but I wouldn’t be the same….

Impossible to do justice to the subject in 850 words, but I've done my best - my own little tribute to live music radio and grassroots music in general, and to the mighty @marcrileydj and @gidcoe in particular.

I vividly remember, a few months before Hereford, when we were cut adrift in the league, doomed, broke and soon to be homeless. I sat on my own trying to come to terms with the fact that soon I would have no club to support. No wonder I'm in bits now. This is just bonkers #BHAFC.

The end of a glorious era tonight as @gidcoe, the finest music broadcaster there is (in my humble but correct opinion), hosts his final show in the 9pm-midnight slot on 6 Music. Gather the whole family round the digital Bakelite radio and drink it in for one last time.

40 years old today - possibly my favourite album of all time, and my daily go-to for singing a small baby to sleep. It's especially nice when she nods off at the 'just close your eyes. ' bit of We Could Send Letters.
