We’re instituting an audience cap for the first show so we recommend arriving early! In an effort to keep our community healthy, we are continuing to test our staff and artists, as well as requiring proof of vaccination (two vaxx + booster) and masking for our audience.💛

2️⃣ Second, thank you to all our performers, staff, and TN fam who joined us in the courtyard — virtual and physical — this season! (Here’s my own picture of folks last night. I swear there are much better pics taken by actual photographers that will go up on our Instagram.)

Alright I’m closing out the night with 2 final tweets. 1️⃣ First, thank you to everyone in the virtual courtyard who sent all the 2’s in the chat throughout the season. We heard you and felt the love! (Did anyone only yesterday learn why we were putting 2’s in chat? 😅😂)

During the show, we all sang Ashes and Smoke by Linda Allen guided by Audrey Kuo. In that same spirit, sing a song! Sing it softly or loudly, in the shower or on your bike ride home. We hope it brings a little of the courtyard to wherever you are in the world.

And in honor of “the song inside of you” we have one last request for those of you who’ve read this whole thread (thank you by the way!)
I remember the song inside of you, how you moved, how it felt, how he stopped and stayed for a while. You ran away with me, found his family alice, a world we never knew @yosoyAFC @tnproject

The work of the day, in Muses he loved, so maybe it hurt, caused him to break when in spite of his greatness, his fate never changed. So what if he never had tried, kept a job, built a family line, found out he wasn't the person he thought he'd become? @yosoyAFC @tnproject

Andrew Figueroa Chiang closed out the night with some amazing songs, ranging from hilarious to sorrowful. (And humored us when we demanded an encore.)
Vincent Van Gogh. He set out to paint, filled up his bags, built portfolio, told all of his friends how far he would go, and all that he had was the yard and the brush. @yosoyAFC @tnproject

Audrey closed out with a perennial reminder to mask up and join up with the disability community as we navigate this ongoing pandemic. (TNC has a limited in-person capacity and requires everyone in the courtyard to mask up for this reason.) 😷💌
I want you, my disabled communities, to survive. I want to survive this with you at the end. …of the endings, I want to sit in the quiet & squeeze her hand like I have so many times before, know the bones of my palm & the press against yours Audrey Kuo @tnproject

If you’d like to share water and stories with us, we run a Tea n’ Zines virtual program with @jamuseum. Next session is November 3rd. https://t.co/CxltvvSCDO
So every time you’re engaging with water, know that like whatever stories you don’t have access to, it’s still there. And when we gather around water together, when we talk about hope, we’re also putting our blessings into the future generations, Audrey Kuo @tnproject

Have you grabbed something to drink yet?
So if there’s teflon in places where humans haven’t even gone, that means the water that your ancestors drink and cried and bathed with is also the water that’s still on earth today. Audrey Kuo @tnproject

Audrey then segued into a meditation on the water cycle (and a perennial reminder to hydrate).
If you’re home to drink some water now. To think about what it would feel like for water to flow free without borders to feel that water flowing through you again. A little bleak news, there’s no place in the world where it’s a safe to drink rain water. Audrey Kuo @tnproject

Missing in this text-based format were the airhorns DJ Waxstyles was instructed to play at random and intentional moments. 📯
So in case you’re worried about the state of the world just know we are in the phase of the apocalypse where Asian moms are like It’s ok if I don’t have grandkids. It’s kind of rough out there. Audrey Kuo @tnproject

Is it TNC or TGNC? 🏳️⚧️ (kudos goes to our wonderful virtual attendees for that joke)
So originally I was not going to get top surgery until after I had a kid, because I was like you know, immigrant, we don’t throw away food. But then it was like pandemic. Audrey Kuo @tnproject

Our next artist Audrey Kuo gave us a sneak peak of their future standup routine. (which was great, Audrey we expect to hear more in the courtyard someday!)
Yea if you need that many different systems, it’s usually a sign that you’re coping for something. So it’s really fun as a 36 year old to realize I don’t even have a personality. It’s just a 100 different coping mechanisms staple together in a trenchcoat Audrey Kuo @tnproject
