Getting good at doing therapy is largely about being able to spot which ones are load baring

Don't touch that, it's a load-bearing delusion.

He's took a second cig off of her. Say what you want about him and his technique and his boundaries and blah blah blah, but the man was a proper lad.

You read a lot of "Therapy isn't what it used to be" opinions on here. I'm just watching a clip of a session by RD Laing where he stops the client and asks if he can have one of her cigarettes. Can argue it helps their bond, but probably not allowed these days. because of woke

Worth a read too in a modern UK traveller context as it has so many examples of the intermingling of various traveller groups and the different ways of living and making money on different fairs and markets throughout the UK. The amount of different grifts it lists is great fun

Just finished Cheapjack, about a man's journey grafting on fairs in the 30s, and it ends with a glossary which is essentially an early Polari dictionary. Amazing resource that reminds me I must write the article about non-gay Polari I've been on about writing for years...

When I was 10 i was the obsessed with the Sims 3. I made a save where it was me and my mum living in a house. Being oblivious to the implications, I showed my dad the house I built and the children we had together in the game. I still find it hard to live with myself

My MP is being modest here: if she'd included all the things they've done for other countries it would be even longer 👏👏👏

Clip from "Chuck Amuck" where Chuck Jones shows people how to draw Bugs Bunny. While I personally am not a fan of his latter style, I can't deny that this is a great way to learn how to draw Bugs Bunny for beginners. It's certainly how I learned to draw him

Today a squirrel got into my therapy room during a session. My training didn't cover this, but I'm just glad I'm not a psychoanalyst or I'd have to sit here and think about what the squirrel means, psychodynamically

"The Piggle" by Winnicott is a curious case study of his work with a girl aged 3 that includes extracts from sessions as well as letters between him and the girl's parents. This section here so far is definitely the highlight.
