Sentinel-1 data show a magma intrusion occurred north of Fentale volcano, Ethiopia, on around 27 September, causing many felt M4+ earthquakes. Today's acqcuisition shows deformation is now decreasing. Please follow Ethiopian experts at IGSSA for more information.

@NERC_COMET Modelling of the 2015 intrusion gave a top depth of about 5 km. Preliminary analysis of the 2024 satellite images based on the width of the graben suggests about 4 km for this one.
