Ok, so I made a mistake. The Lewotobi eruption was brief strong Vulcanian followed by sustained sub plinian. I mistook the plume height of the Vulcanian component and wrongly assumed plinian (>=20 km). That is how I made a mistake.

My first thought was "hey, this looks a lot more like the larger Manam vulcanian eruptions". I was told it was not by a specific local geologist, despite my thoughts to the contrary. So there is a decent chance you are right and I am wrong. Was annoyed another account accused me.
