It's cliche af, but it really is about the friends we make along the way. I've met so many kind, generous, incredible people in the halo and forge community. I'm always so surprised how willing people are to give their time, feedback, or just moral support. I love you all so much.

Shout to Piggy for giving clear and considered feedback to the map forger. All I was asking for was more of this and less derogation . I am not “anti-pro”; I am anti hate.

@total_legend @Naded @Envore It was in my top 15, I think the design is very unique and I appreciated how hard it is to grapple camo (have to expose yourself fully). Since the map is a U effectively, the spawn system is very predictable and it’s hard to get out of a spawn trap with such open sightlines and.

Lastly, my account on was deleted/banned. ForgeHub is wholly owned by one individual. I respect that he has the position and ability to deny someone entry to his website, but given the S&D contest is 50% backed by the studio, it feels both improper and.

Lastly, if someone involved in a map (and presumably cut in on prizing) is there during official playtesting/review, on the call and defending decisions (and only for their map)…  then every forger should be afforded that opportunity. Otherwise you have a conflict of interest.

8. designs may naturally become a bit mazey. lean on shape language and art to separate the identity of each space.9. playtest early and often (keep your blockout clean, and color each area).10. count the runtime from each room and potential engagement, keep it to <10 sec.

6. always allow a player the option of mild high ground in any fight (eg. a crate), for greater dance potential in a 1v1, and for curb sliding.7. extreme high ground, ledges, or routes that look down on blind entrances should be strongly avoided.

3. fights should have a lot of escape options (safety) should you find yourself in danger.4. typical halo has 3 entrances per room, up to 4 or 5 can work for SnD.5. try designing some one directional options that can be reversed with grapple/repulse.

1. dont design for valorant/cs2, those games are more about setting up positions and holding them. halo has dynamic engagements that allow for more "dance" between players and team mates.2. design around short loops that allow you to quickly re-engage after backing down.

Halo Studios' reveal video talked about designing "something new, something old, something alien" . what if that's actually their 3 projects in development? . 1. Halo 1 remake, single player (old) .2. Halo modern multiplayer (new) .3. Flood spin-off game (alien).
