My wife Karen has invented this genius device for removing bumble bees from the house. It’s basically a long stick with a bit of cloth on the end which she soaks in sugar water as needed. The bee will inevitably clamber on and is thus rescued/ejected into the garden.

My daughter and I just saved an ailing bee with maple syrup! If we achieve nothing for the rest of the week we’ve got the warm fuzzy glow of seeing it actually *fly off* like a fully functioning pollinator. We jumped in the air and hugged in utter joy that *it worked*.

I’ve just signed up for a 10k run in October and I’m immediately spiralling. I’ve never entered a *race* before. I know someone has to come last and I’m okay with it being me but what if I’m so slow that EVERYONE is angry at me because they wanted to close the course and go home?
