A busy few days engaging with Croydonians on the doorstep - from my own ward of Broad Green to Crystal Palace & Upper Norwood to Thornton Heath - lots of good conversations and positive feedback for @RowennaDavis’s plan to put people first in Croydon 🌹🙏

🚌Very good news for 400 workers that ADL will remain in Falkirk. 🏭They have been failed for too long, not least by the infamous ScotZEB2 Scheme which sent 3 times more orders to China as it did to Scotland’s sole manufacturer. We must prevent this from happening again.

This guy has painted himself as the hardest working family man in the UK. Cheated on his wife. Privately schooled. Son of a fraudster. Convicted criminal. Having a family, a job and paying taxes are not personality traits. Millions of us do it. Fallen on his own sword here.

Broad Green Labour members were out on the doorstep speaking with residents. Many people told us they are deeply frustrated about repeated fly-tipping in the area. Despite ongoing dumping, Mayor Perry failed to take action to catch the perpetrators.

Landed fm NYC this morning then straight to CP&UN to listen to residents on their doorsteps with my ace Labour colleagues. Followed with a visit to the wonderful @OurGipsyHill garden party. Great conversation and delicious cake (thanks Helen!). @SangeetaGLabour

If you want some hope for the future have a look at the proposals to restitch the ancient English town of Newbury. They're probably the best town centre development being proposed in Britain today, quite inspiring: a perfect example of three core concepts....

Restitching towns is better for the town , better for its residents, better for the environment & better for the developer.
