The viewing angle of the ring is 0.808 arc seconds. 0.66 / tan(0.808/3600 * PI / 180) = 168484 light years.

The left vs right political divide is largely fictional, created by billionaire-funded media, influencers, & politicians. Average democrats & republicans are far more like each other than either is like those billionaires, etc. It should be us vs billionaires, not left vs right!
