The festival needs to be put back two weeks to improve chances of having better weather, for spectators and ground, soft/heavy ground festivals are a bit anticlimactic.

There’s the whole breeding side to flat racing so it genuinely is two divisions, superstar makes are worth £50m superstar mares are worth £5m simple as that.

Of course they are… they get 7lbs against the boys and their own races. denied us Lossiemouth v state man, BDA v Ballyburn and Dinoblue would’ve gone close in champion chase. Make all the 2.5 mile novice races handicaps and get rid of the mares’ races; lose the 4 miler too.

What like it did for Annie power? Putthekettleon? Honeysuckle? Lossiemouth? Maskada, mount ida, heaven help us… mares are getting 7lbs every time in grade 1 open company, that’s the leveller if you want it.
