There are people that submit their grants more than 8 minutes ahead of the deadline???.
If you submit your grants last minute, you're in good company. Half of the applications were submitted in the last two days, in the 2005 NIH Pioneer grant cycle. The red bars indicate the awardees; one of them submitted just 8 minutes before the deadline.

This is definitely one of the longest running projects in the lab b/c we were stuck in a trap of thinking about Sie proteins blocking competing phages. But wasn't a satisfying answer to fit the biology we observed - kudos to @vee_coli for persevering and figuring it out!.
