I saw a comment that says we're alienating half of America, and I want to be clear - Bungie isn't alienating half of America. We are supporting 100% of our employees.
Doing a raid with someone I don’t know, they inspected my guardian and said “An SMG, a glaive, and a heavy fusion? Oof, tell me you don’t know how to raid without telling me you don’t know how to raid buddy” and I’m just
I know what we showed today looks ridiculously overpowered and over the top, so I just want to take a second to step in and re-assure everyone that yes, it absolutely is all those things.
Just like Luke said in the video, Destiny isn’t done with Final Shape! But right now we’re focused on getting this meal finished and on the plate for you all. There’s a *lot* more of Final Shape that you still haven’t seen, so prepare yourselves accordingly.
@MrKitTY29778158
Destiny 2 is not dead after Final Shape. The Destiny universe is *definitely* not dead after this. We’ll talk more about all that soon!
Here's a thread of some my favorite screenshots/images we've released today, because we showed a lot and it's easy to miss stuff! Starting off, our new destination - inside the Traveler! Things are totally FINE and NORMAL in here.
Hey! I’m Jason, a disabled game dev who works as a Production Engineer at
@Bungie
. Before that I was a Systems Admin at Wizards of the Coast and before THAT I was the technical lead for the Collaboration team at a D.O.E. laboratory.
#WhatAGameDevLooksLike
I am 2/3 of the way through Axiom’s End by
@thelindsayellis
, and as an employee of a subsidiary of
@Hasbro
I’m officially adopting the position that she should write a Transformers film.
“But isn’t Riven dea-”
Look. This is what happens when y’all cheese the final encounter in Last Wish. Actions have consequences.
(This is a joke and absolutely not canon.)
alrighty, Into the Light dropping on April 9th with a couple new twitch drop emblems. got THREE dev livestreams starting next week (one per week) to talk about what it's going to be. surprised bungie needs 3 to talk about it all, but aight, i'm in, talk to me.
All the Bungie employees just standing awkwardly together, wondering who’s going to be the first one of us to make a Morbius joke on Twitter after the Sony news
For those curious, I’ve been running the Starfire Protocol grenades for days build with Osteo to trigger my grenade regen, and it’s a blast. They also asked me at the end to explain how I did so much dps with my loadout! Everyone was happy, except I still haven’t gotten my Vex.🙃
I know it looks like we just flipped a bunch of switches for all of the quality of life improvements we've been announcing for Destiny, but I want you know that each of them represents *months* of behind the scenes discussion, research, dev work, and QA testing.
Sharing internal Bungie communications is usually frowned upon, but I feel like I am ok sharing this evidence that my manager is great even when I have unreasonable requests. 😇
There is a videogame pundit who covers the game I work on who is so consistently, fantastically, and astoundingly wrong about how live service games work or are made that I find myself absolutely dumbfounded that they can find new ways to be wrong.
Now I want a physics based game by way of Goat Simulator where you’re watching a child and have to constantly protect them from a bunch of wild and crazy dangerous items.
I had a baby visit today and omg taking care of a baby must be so bonkers. Don’t try to multitask bc a babies keep trying to die and your job is keep them alive
Yesterday also marked 90 days at
@Bungie
! Got my Production Engineer coin and everything. It’s an amazing place to be and I’m incredibly proud of my work and the teams I support. Making Destiny is an absolute delight - can’t wait for you all to see what we’re working on!
@MrKitTY29778158

I'm going to be loud about this for the next few weeks at least, but I think it's well deserved. On December 28th, 2014, I ran (and completed) the Vault of Glass raid in Destiny for the very first time.
I’ve worked at Bungie for over a year now and I STILL catch myself thinking “Oh shit, I should stop reading about cool Destiny stuff coming up and get to work” while literally reading work emails.
I am so fucking happy and proud to be working at Bungie at this moment in time. Destiny means so much to me, and I can’t believe I get to be a part of shaping it. Eyes up, Guardians - amazing things are in store.
I have been waiting until it was "official" official but I got all my new onboarding meetings scheduled today so I'm happy to announce that I applied for (and got!) a new position here at Bungie!
Still processing, but I want to say this: I have been laid off before. But never have I ever seen an immediate mobilization of non-impacted employees working to help out/support impacted employees. Thank you, all - I feel loved, not cast out. That means a lot.
@AmiTheRobot
Just imagine a guardian doing the dumbest shit imaginable and they look over at their exo buddy and they see them blink and hear *iPhone screenshot noise*
He was amazing in every role that he played, but I think everyone at Bungie - and anyone who’s played Destiny - would agree: he made Destiny something greater than it would have been with anyone else as Zavala.
The other day our 10yo said she preferred
@mountain_goats
over The Beatles because she prefers their vibe and I honestly don’t know if this is wild success or a giant parenting failure.
@GailSimone
Gail, they even scraped the artwork of my kiddo! The one you gave an ECCC badge to! They drew some art for a Magic card when I worked at Wizards and their name is in the list of artists. They drew it when they were SIX
@CarissasNewLife
Our kid has a friend whose parents can’t afford to bring them/drop them off. My spouse and I have agreed we’ll always pick them up and drop them off, no complaints and no questions asked. He’ll also sometimes come over to get a full meal. We all do what we can!
I get to compete in my first
@Bungie
Pentathlon this Friday and I am freaking excited! I’m on the Newbies team and we have an absolutely killer lineup of members. (I’ll be playing Pico Park and helping with the puzzle hunt.)
@destinyinsights
Congrats, “feedback” like this makes you an honorary Bungie dev! It comes with no perks except a constant stream of comments like these across all platforms!
I’m not going to be playing the new Harry Potter game. I ask you to do the same. I feel like this article explains the reasons why much better than I’d ever be able to.
This game rules. Its characters and environments resound with authenticity, you can NAME ALL THE CATS YOU FIND, it swings for the fences with its narrative, and absolutely nails the landing in a way few games do. Oh, and it’s fun, too! I can not recommend it enough.
It is both my birthday AND my 1 year anniversary at Bungie! A year ago I was anxiously wondering if I was biting off more than I could chew - I was making the jump from an IT career track in the games industry to the content creation side of things. And I did it. I love it here.
If there is one thing I've learned working as a Production Engineer at Bungie it's that you need to have your favorite meme generator at your fingertips. There are times when you'll have mere seconds to post something before the moment is gone and you don't wanna miss it.
To celebrate the release of the new
@mountain_goats
album, I am going to be matching each song off of their new album, "Dark in Here," with a Magic: The Gathering card. (This may take a couple days, so be patient.)
#wotcstaff
I showed my therapist the name of this, a playlist that is 100% not at all about a former employment experience and is definitely just a vibe and not the soundtrack for my life, and I think I broke her.
It’s giving Annihilation, it’s giving the end of everything, it’s giving fucked up cosmic horror - welcome to The Final Shape. Everything is beautiful. Everything is terrible. We’ll see you all on the other side.
Made it almost three years without getting COVID. Hell of a run. But, as anyone who plays roguelikes knows, eventually your luck runs out and your run ends. 😭
(Anyways, these thoughts brought to you by a full grown adult who teared up this morning while listening to a song about a professional wrestler who’s decided to do whatever it takes to get out of the ring in one piece and I am FINE y’all.)
It's also one of the most beautiful gameplay spaces I've seen in a videogame, full stop. The Witness isn't the only one shaping this world - we, and the Traveler, have a say in this world, too.
It's my 2 year Bungie-versary AND my birthday (42! I now know the answers to life, the universe, and everything!) so everyone has to be nice to me today. 🎂
OK OK,🚑...
But before I go, here's some cozy indie game recommendations for ya to noodle on, including gems like

PLAY MORE INDIES! pls & thank u. This also turned into a weird pseudo-guided meditation at the end... anyway:
Ok, y’all, let’s do this:
I haven’t owned a PlayStation since the PS3. Thanks to papa Sony, I now have a PS5. What games do I need to catch up on from the last decade or so? (Bonus points if they’re a part of the PlayStation Plus Premium catalog)
