Congrats to the intercom team on impressive execution and results across the board. A very clear lesson in how critical pricing and packaging (and the need for flexibility therein) is to the growth story of modern enterprise business.

This is a story about how we rebooted a 15 year old decelerating business to be on course to be the fastest growing large software company in the world in four quarters from today… :). The Q1 Intercom board meeting starts in one hour. Q1 FY26 was the largest quarter by net new

I feel for the poor anthropic safety researcher who tweeted out a cool behavior observed in testing environments without realizing that it would be taken out of context to mean that Claude would rat you out to the authorities if it thought you were immoral, but also, lol, lmao.

Painful lessons, but we've significantly improved our monitoring, vacuum strategies, and operational practices. We're sharing our RCA below - If you're running PostgreSQL at scale with foreign keys and concurrent writes, it's worth a read. (4/4).

The culprit: A migration from monolithic to partitioned tables caused high write volume due to fk relationships. We experienced 4 outages over a week as we pieced together that MultiXact members grow quadratically when multiple transactions lock rows. (3/4).

Almost all postgres teams monitor for txn ID wraparound, most monitor for MultiXact ID wraparound. But MultiXact member space has no metrics. Our monitoring showed 50% MultiXact ID usage while the member space silently hit 100%, causing hours-long emergency vacuums. (2/4).

Last week at @getmetronome, we hit a painful PostgreSQL edge case: MultiXact Member Space exhaustion. It caused multiple outages affecting our customers. I sincerely apologize to everyone impacted. 🧵 (1/4).

About as bad as it could be. "One of those endpoints returns data without authentication including a value called assembly_key. Using that key it’s possible to download transcripts of audio recorded via Granola AI. on 3/11/2025 the issue was addressed".

Great talk by @getmetronome infra TL @nickdella & @responsive_apps CEO @apurva1618 at @netflix's Open Data Forum yesterday! They shared how we built the world’s largest Kafka exactly-once deployment + scaled with disaggregated state storage. Glad to talk about this publicly more

Insane that the only native way to see time to the second on an iPhone is to look at the clock icon. If you open the clock app, no seconds for you, but they’ll happily use a private api to add a real time second hand to the app icon.

Gemini might be good on leaderboards but until I can hit tab in gmail to auto compose a response to a "can you suggest a few times you're available" email I will be bearish on Google's AI efforts. I don't care about ARC scores just connect gcal to gmail man.
