A disgraceful, brutal summary/ portrayal of mental illness, share of spend, people’s needs, no mention of premature mortality , stigma, the harms of waiting lists. Cruel.

I’m quoted in this @TheEconomist piece on using AI to interpret acoustic qualities of speech in psychiatric diagnosis. I’m sceptical of the value add of reaching a diagnosis, but opportunities to personalise based on individual symptoms could be great

I really enjoyed being interviewed by @SeanPhillips91 as part of the @Policy_Exchange report on NHS leadership and management; as with anything of this length I don’t agree with every single line, but the exec summary and the bulk of the core recommendations are very strong

Some people are going to be disappointed by this outcome, but it’s absolutely the correct decision for the NHS.

Our committee is unable to recommend lecanemab for treating mild cognitive impairment or mild dementia caused by Alzheimer’s disease. Benefits of slowing disease progression, by 4-6 months on average, can not justify the high cost to the NHS. Learn more: https://t.co/nSjcKGChsp

My family dog was stolen last night— please, if anyone has any information, get in touch (and please amplify this, if you can). We’ve put up a £500 reward for any information. He was snatched outside the supermarket, his GPS tracker has been destroyed. We’ve heard he may have

At the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich, a fox fell through the roof into recovery. One way to beat the A&E queue I suppose.

Horrified to read this - The Sunday Times highlighted this Creon shortage earlier this year - it could last until 2026! It is a major crisis affecting many many patients

Almost in tears at the pharmacy when told Creon is out of stock until end of the year and no alternatives available- suggested I buy it abroad but it’s expensive - or speak to dietician about my diet - I can’t eat without Creon so not sure what diet they can suggest!
