I loved being a beta reader for this phenomenal book, and can't wait for it to arrive on my doorstep tomorrow morning!. The path to a better life is as simple as running tiny experiments. Congratulations Anne-Laure!.
The wait is over. Tiny Experiments is officially out in the world!! Feeling a mix of excitement, gratitude & the inevitable anxiety that comes with sharing work you truly care about. I believe this approach can change lives and I can’t wait to see how you make it your own.

being discerning is the gift you give to community. it means having guests when you have energy to connect. it means setting clear expectations with housemates. it means showing up for events where you truly add value. it means facing conflicts instead of burying feelings.
being annoyed is the price you pay for community. it means having guests when you'd rather be alone. it means letting someone live with you even when they get on your nerves. it means showing up for events that you'd rather not go to. it means turning the other cheek.

I've been fascinated lately by Vonnegut's idea of the emotional arc or 'shape' of stories. One researcher used natural language processing to show that 85% of 1327 books analyzed fell under one of the following six shapes 👇

Found another bookstore with soul. The owner and his wife scour estate sales every weekend looking for unusual used books. The place is a veritable mess, (which I love) and the collection here is sublime. 📍Delphine Street Books, New Orleans.
I've traveled through 15 states this summer, stopping at independent coffee shops and bookstores along the way, and it's become more of a chore than fun. All the coffee shops have the same instagram-clean look with Edison light bulbs and homemade artwork, high ceilings and big.
