My first article on #instapoetry is finally accessible through @westernulibs! It considers the trend of nostalgic aesthetics prevalent in the genre and looks at @rupikaur_ and @atticuspoetry as examples.

Convocation felt more special than I thought it would. It's nice to see the same bright eyes I arrived with! It's probably a good time to announce that I'm beginning a @SSHRC_CRSH postdoc in August, hosted by @Duke_English. Thanks @westernuEnglish for an amazing six years! 🥹🎓

One thing I learned this year is that I love interviewing people! It was an honour to speak to @PaulSeesequasis about the @PhotoIndigenous project. Paul's work has provided opportunities for re-storying archival images using social media. Read it here:

It's here! It was an absolute joy working with @ashleycmorford & @jeffreyansloos, two scholars whom I greatly admire, on this special issue of the Indigenous literary studies journal Transmotion. It's called "Storywork in Digital Environments" and it's OA!

It was such a joy to participate in this dialogue on ai and creativity!.
Author Sheila Heti, Alice Munro Chair in Creativity at #WesternU, shared how she uses #AI as a writing tool at a panel hosted by @WesternUEnglish. “It comes out of randomness – it doesn’t mean anything to her (the chatbot). But it means something to us.”.

I am so excited to speak about instapoetry at @uofg's digital humanities THINC lab! In person and online. Our talk is inspired by a few events, like @ConversationUK publishing a misguided article about the lack of scholars taking instapoetry seriously 🫠

7am thoughts on AI creativity! Excited to talk to Heti later. This talk comes at a good time: I read BostonU wants to use ChatGPT to provide student feedback. It’s scary how uninformed people are about ChatGPT. I’ve lost count how many times it’s apologized to me for mistakes.
Want a preview of our AI and Creativity event at 6:00 p.m. tonight? Please listen to @tanjagrubnic's interview on CBC from this morning:.
