El método de Latinometrics es una variación de que se conoce en la literatura como las "tasas de Kuznets" en honor Simon Kuznets. Obviamente, esta y el Gini, no son las únicas. Hay más. Ver Ray para una lista y otros problemas con el Gini.

P3 "Ingreso" relativo: si mido la desigualdad en Soles o en Pesos, esta no debe variar. Es decir, si multiplico los datos por x (con x~=0), la desigualdad es la misma. Hasta acá, tanto el Gini como el otro método, satisfacen estas propiedades.

Hay 4 propiedades usadas en la literatura. La 4ta es la más "controversial". P1 Anonimidad: Si Pedro tiene 10 y Dina tiene 30, la desigualdad debe ser la misma en caso Pedro tenga 30 y Dina 10. P2 Escala/Población: si clono exactamente a una población, la desigualdad no cambia.
