Rupanya, dapat melangkah keluar rumah pun satu nikmat yang selama ini kita ambil sambil lewa. Peringatan untuk diri ini bersyukur dengan nikmat-nikmat kecil yg dikurniakanNya seharian.
TIL that the "direct" delivery option by
@GrabMY
is a scam.
You pay extra, but Grab can assign riders multiple orders, they just don't show it to you on the app.
This was confirmed when a rider shared he was late because he had another delivery, despite my "direct delivery".
Uni students in Malaysia need to know this.
Reported by BNM (2015 data):
• 1 in 4 diploma & degree grads were unemployed 6 month after graduation
• 54% of those hired earn less than RM2,000/mth
• 80% of firms said uni curricula is outdated & grads dont hv required skills.
Disgusting. At the end of the video, the guy that was there at the lift first, was roughly denied entry into the lift to make way for this gang. No way on earth these are good people.
69 year old Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has arrived at KL court complex flanked by his family members and supporters. He’ll know shortly whether he needs to enter his defence over 47 charges :- 12 CBT, 8 counts of bribery and 27 counts of money laundering.
The sleep hack that has helped me stay fresh thru a long day:
1. 10/20 minute nap at ard 9/10am and
2. 10/20 minute nap at ard 1/2pm
Regardless how little I slept the night before, just add 2 short naps & the body & brain feels great.
I didnt invent this. Works like magic.
What many students need to ask themselves but don’t:
“Am I genuinely interested in what I am studying?”
If you’re really interested, you have an advantage: Passion.
Passion will fuel you to go the extra mile. Beyond exam grades.
If you find studying dreadful, reflect on this.
📝 Keyword List of FREE Canva Elements
Canva is crazy underrated.
It has millions of free design assets that look super-premium.
Finding them, however, can be a headache.
The good assets, for some reason, are always buried under the mediocre ones.
Though I have mixed thoughts about this issue, I see a main culprit.
Firstly, who's an intern?
An intern, in its purest, is someone who joins an org to learn.
Their eagerness to learn supersedes their desire to earn. That's why they intern instead of applying for a FT role.
Starting my internship next semester, so I’ll be walking around with this to express my worry.
The gov increased min wage of RM1.5k, but this policy didn’t include interns.
Interns are unprotected by the employment act in Malaysia, hence the risk of exploitation by companies.
At this point,
@GrabMY
has quite the habit of being dishonest to users & riders.
We all know they're desperately trying to make profit after years in the red.
Lying to users is only going to lose them users and money in the long run.
[Additive Halal Check Website]
Normally, when there's no Halal Logo, I'll check the list of ingredients to see if there are things that we cant eat.
We'd sometimes get stuck when we see E-codes. Are they halal?
@SoHafidz
& I made a web app for this:
Seriously disappointing.
A student starts a campaign in hopes of securing an opportunity for herself. Pretty simple. If you wish to support, go ahead. If you don’t move on.
Pity these people with toxic hearts.
Are they really that shallow?
There are real good people in BN. It's unfortunate that some of them have to lose despite good record. It's obvious that people really really want change this time that they vote for the party and not the individual! Hope this is for the best!
6 years old, diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. Failed pancreas and collapsed lung. The parents have done almost everything to care for their innocent ill child. Currently, Nazeer is need of a special medical vest which costs RM49,000. The parents are trying to crowdfund the amount.
@GrabMY
How else can you help me? You're going to refund all my past orders with direct delivery?
I already got in touch with support before tweeting. That's how I learnt about the scam.
It seems that others want an explanation too. So make it public, if any.
If you want to maximise your chances of being hired after grad, this is what you should focus on:
(1) Set your end goal - ideal first job
(2) Find out the required skills & realities of the job
(3) Determine if you have what it takes
(4) Hone required skills & stay updated
My 1st hack in Uni was to sit at the front of the class for as many classes as possible.
Benefits:
- forced to focus cos lecturer is in front of me
- easy to ask questions cos dont need to shout
- easiest way to build rep with lecturer. No need to angkat-angkat.
Please note. Sharing a person's contact details without permission is not right. Unless it is already made available to the public by the person himself/herself.
I thought this is common sense.
What I find funny is that these universities still charge fees while students literally go out to learn from another organization (that have to pay the students). What a good business. 😂
I contacted Grab's support to ask.
They tried to make it sound like it's the riders fault by saying they can't reach the rider.
Why need to contact rider when it's their system that assign the orders?
Then it's revealed that the rider has 2 other orders.
Pay more for what?
@ImranAjmain
This is a tiktok meme. 🤣
A guy went viral for making tiktok with this dialogue that doesn't make sense. I think she just want to be funny. 😂
Making an issue viral has been proven time & time again to be effective. Don't underestimate the power of your tweets and retweets. If people come together, change can happen.
“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.”
– Steve Jobs, Co-Founder of Apple
What disrupts this dynamic is universities making interning compulsory.
It becomes a requirement to fulfill. It's a chore.
Hence, interning loses its essence.
(2) FIND OUT REQUIRED SKILLS & REALITIES OF THE JOB.
The best way to do this is to actually aski people in the industry. How?
- Attend industry related events. Real events, not student events.
- Linkedin
- Futurelab.my
Many are willing to help if you ask nicely.
I’m an introvert but not antisocial. I love being around people I love. There’s warmth & positive vibes that you get to enjoy when you are around people you care for.
We've just launched this crowdfunding campaign on
@KitafundMY
to help families that might be affected economically by the movement restriction order:
Friends looking for ways to help others in this trying times, this can be one of the ways. Tiada paksaan.
But for this “hack” to work, you need to accept these realities:
1. The things you learn in uni are the bare basics about an industry
2. Industries evolve constantly & rapidly - up to you to catch up.
3. Having a diploma/degree doesn’t make you unique/special. Many have it.
@MrAnonz
@GrabMY
Exactly. Bukan salah rider langsung in this case. Grab yang offer "direct delivery", dia juga yg assign multiple orders kepasa rider yang sama. Mungkin dia fikir orang takkan tahu.
4. Having perfect CGPA and co-curricular activity records does not secure jobs anymore, if you have low relevance to the industry.
If you can accept these wholeheartedly, you can consider these “hacks”. If not, you may continue chasing your cca points. 👍
Generally, companies don't need interns to run.
Interns gain exposure, new skills, and network from the internship and the organization gets a bit of extra help.
That's how the dynamic between interns and organizations should be. That's an internship in its purest form.
Help younger ones figure out their strengths, weaknesses and interests. Or at least get them thinking about it.
When they are self-aware, they can make better choices for their future.
How many of us realised that we have no interest in what we're doing only when it's too late?
(1) SET YOUR GOAL - IDEAL FIRST JOB
The earlier you do this, the better. What do u want to do after grad? Which company? What’s the position? As specific as possible.
Most avoid this question till final year. You shouldn’t if you want to maximise your chances of being hired.
We can't blame the companies if they don't want to do internship programs anymore.
That's why, IMO:
- Higher education institutions that make internships compulsory
- without providing real support to students
are the problem.
A Harvard study found that people who spent 15 minutes at the end of the day reflecting about lessons they learned performed 23 percent better compared to those who didn't.
4. Is it true that the community will only support people with looks? That’s just sad to have that kind of outlook.
It’s really sad to see people go out of their way to be hurtful to others.
If you have a bad heart, keep it to yourself, please.

Life is hard as it is. We dont have to go around making it harder for others.
So, how can things be better?
IMO, if unis want to make interning compulsory, they should step up.
1. Source good opportunities for students.
2. Provide cash to good organizations to hire your students. This can be from the fees that students pay for the semester.
An important thing to note: If you think this is troublesome, it might be a sign that you are not truly interested in what you are studying or your “dream job”. Because if you are interested, you will be naturally curious and proactive. Something to think about.
Not saying companies and students have no fault, but the main culprit here are the universities.
Looking at the average quality of graduates these unis produced, it's easy to say that these universities haven't been doing their part for a long time.

As a guy with no coding skills, what did I use to create the ✨Ramadan Stories✨ website?
At first, I used Canva's website builder to build all the pages. You can really make beautiful websites and use your custom domain (e.g. yourbusiness . com) with Canva's websites feature.
Signs that you are genuinely interested in your field of study:
1. You read more than textbook & slides out of curiousity
2. You have a desire to meet real practitioners
3. You stay up to date with the industry’s latest news as much as possible
4. Exam is to test understanding
The 3rd point is a common feedback that I hear from too many employers - they want to hire but cannot find talents that meet BASIC requirements.
If you are in uni/college, there are actually ways for you to hack your uni years to maximise your chances of getting hired.
To check if an e-code additive is Halal:
1. Open
2. Type in the Numbers without the E
3. Get result (Halal or Doubtful)
The data is obtained from the PDF that is on
@MUISingapore
@halalSG
website.
This is not a novel idea.
When I led my startup, the National University of Singapore reached out asking for internship opportunities for their students.
What's even better, they made it clear that they would pay the allowances if we do hire their students! No cost for us.
1. If they have the ability to read, they would know that she is already taking MARA loan & need support to seize an opportunity.
2. No comments on
@pedoqpop
tweet & his fan’s. Thats just how they behave.
3. Only a fool would think putting yourself out to the world is easy.
Three big signs that you might not be genuinely interested in your field of study:
1. You only care about what is covered in syllabus. The less, the better.
2. You don’t stay up to date with what’s new in the industry
3. You care about grades more than understanding
(3) DETERMINE IF YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES
Based on what you find out about the requirements and work demands, are you still interested?
Be an intern at the company during sem break if you want to find out more and have a better glimpse of the work environment.

@SoHafidz
& I made a web app for this:
Can the govt make it compulsory for companies to pay interns minimum wage?
Yes.
Will companies be eager to hire interns at increased wages?
I don't know. If it's going to be expensive, would it still be attractive to fork out money to train students for a short period?
Making it compulsory also increases the supply of interns in the market.
These are people who are (perceived) not "ready" for real employment (low demand, low negotiation power).
In an open market, high supply + no real demand = low pay.
Black Panther is one empowering movie. It's amazing how much impact a movie has. That is the relevance of arts in this world.
We always talk about the impact of science & tech and relate it to progress, we forget that arts is what keeps us human.
But its crucial that you find out about the requirements so you can prepare yourself!
It is also important to ask about the lifestyle that’s attached to the career. Like work till late night, or high-stress work environment and so on.
Which brings me to my next point.
(4) SHARPEN SKILLS & STAY UPDATED
Once you figure out what skills are needed for the job, you should dedicate the remainder of your university life working on them consciously.
For e.g. if the job requires you to speak good English, you do things in uni that can help with that.
Many asked “how come there’s no brilliant innovation coming from this country? Why can’t our people be as innovative as people in the west?”
Simple. As a community, we’re not willing to support innovative efforts. A lot of us are just smack talkers.
@GrabMY
I received this from Grab last night. What a clown. 🤡
Double check what,
@GrabMY
? It's your system that enables this to happen. It's 100% your fault for lying to users about "direct" delivery.
Fix your template and admit it's your fault. The rider and shop did nothing wrong.
And stay updated means to read news and reports about it. Watch videos and understand the lingo that the industry uses.
This is what going to differentiate you from other applicants in the future - your relevance to the industry.
We all are tested in different ways. Have empathy & refrain from hating others when they do things we don’t favor. We dont know what other people are going through.
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.
Skolafund has a very positive community surrounding it that has supported various students.
Its unfortunate that the tweet landed on the wrong side of Malaysian twitter world.
Came across this interesting study again recently: adults who regularly get been 7.5 and 9 hours sleep per night can be up to 20% more productive.
Definitely need to force myself to sleep earlier.
That “dream job” you wish to get at that “dream company” — do you know:
how many people do they hire each year for that position?
how many graduates are going to apply for it?
Is there anything about you that is different/better than others?
Or are you just another graduate?
Like I shared, many start to worry about jobs in their final semester & some after graduation. Only to find out later that they are not hireable.
You, in contrast, utilised your 3-4 years of university to ensure you are ready for what comes after.
Most parents only want the best for their kids.
When they make decisions for us, it is based on what they trust is going to keep us safe, & have the best impact on us.
They stop imposing things on us when they trust we can make good decisions for ourselves.
Trust is the key.
If you find out that it is actually not for you, then good. At least you find that out early. Simpy restart from step one.
If you still feel excited about the job, and feel that it fits you, proceed to the last step.
Here’s a different perspective to consider.
This is a DM that I got from a student that didn’t get to choose what to study. She wanted medicine, but her dad made her learn engineering.
She managed to see things positively and is now loving the course.
Can you do the same?
@IrFirdaus7
Work, UNLESS you want to be an academician than just continue studies.
Otherwise, gain relevant experience then do Masters if you wish to. Post-grad is more meanigful with industry experience.

E.g. You are studying IT but you realise half-way that you are actually passionate abt Social Work. If you can change courses, do that. If not, then you need to find out how IT can add-value to your social work career in the future.
This gives meaning to what you’re learning.
A common mistake that many make is to select a course or a school because it is “prestigious” in the eyes of others.
E.g. Accounting/Law/Medicine etc. is prestigious & hard to get in. Smart people go there, so I must target that, too!
