Q. What is the difference between Halal and Halal-certified? A. Halal is an Arabic word which means lawful or permissible. Any food or drink which falls under this category is permitted for Muslim consumption.

Yup. Frog lady parts. So while it might look luxurious in a dessert bowl… it’s not halal!

But here’s the plot twist… This “snow jelly” actually comes from the fatty tissue near the fallopian tubes of female snow frogs! 🐸

Many believe it’s great for the skin, lungs, and overall vitality. Sounds wholesome, right?

It usually comes as tiny yellowish dried pieces. Nothing fancy! But soak it in water and boom - it puffs up into a soft, jelly-like texture that some love to use in sweet dessert soups. Think rock sugar, papaya, red dates, longan, bird’s nest… the whole atas dessert package.

Ever heard of hasma or hashima, also known as “snow jelly”? (No, we’re not talking about Mak Ngah Semah)

Abang tak salah lah pasal telur lembu tu... But about platypus eggs! Maybe you may not want to eat them lah because they're actually protected and are super rare! Remember - being khalifah means protecting Allah's unique creatures is part of our responsibility too!

Psst... fun fact! There's no need to slaughter the poultry for the eggs to be halal (you know that already right?) But remember! Eggs become non-halal if you add non-halal ingredients during cooking! So you gotta know what they put in your omelette okay?

Blessed Friday everyone! Rasulullah (ﷺ) said: “The five (daily) prayers and one Friday prayer to (the next) Friday prayer are expiations (for the sins committed in the intervals) between them.” (Sahih Muslim)

That said, we completely understand why the placement raises questions - it's natural to be mindful! We've shared this feedback with the store management for them to consider in their future display arrangements. We hope this explanation helps to shed some light!

Proper packaging and partitioning prevent any physical mixing and maintain Halal integrity. However, many retailers do choose to provide separate storage sections for Halal products, which is a thoughtful practice that gives added peace of mind to our Muslim consumers.

Each package serves as a complete protective barrier, ensuring product safety, integrity and preventing any cross-contact. The products are also clearly labelled - ensuring that consumers know what's what. This helps maintain halal integrity and traceability.
