Assessing the J-20 RCS at this high of a level is, frankly, drastically underestimating the results of the Chinese aerospace industry's decades long quest to acquire/develop low-observable technologies.

If the literature started talking about detection of targets of some negative RCS, then you might be justified in saying “ah, they’re thinking about detecting aircraft with some attempts at signature management”

That’s 3 dBsm, which has been the rough rule of thumb for “small fighter frontal RCS at X-band” for many, many years. This tells you absolutely nothing about the J-20, and is more of a simple way to get a handle on radar capability.
🔴 Most of the IAF literature on future radar capability looks for radar performance against a fighter with RCS of 2M2. It appears IAF thinks (Ofcourse based on studies) that J20 is 2M2 at ranges of engagement they are looking at.

I often wonder what drives such confident misconceptions.
@prottput @highfreqhertz They return booster rockets all of the time, one's that are actually capable of carrying a patload, unlike this one. There is zero purpose to propulsively land a rocket. It serves no function and is a waste of taxpayer money. But landing boosters has happened since the 60's.

We toast our hearty comrades who have fallen from the sky, And were gently caught by God's own hand To be with Him on high, To dwell among the soaring clouds They’ve known so well before, From victory roll to tail chase At heavens' very door. And as we fly among them there,
Naval aviator Lt. Serena N. Wileman, 31, and naval flight officer Lt. Cmdr. Lyndsay Evans, 31, died after their jet crashed Tuesday.
