Here's the thing. If you're buying a house and everything is simple, you can ask your conveyancer how much stamp duty to pay. If things are complex - e.g. there's a trust - this is a very bad idea. If Ms Rayner just asked her conveyancer then that was a mistake.

EXCLUSIVE: Angela Rayner has admitted that she underpaid stamp duty on her £800,000 seaside flat and has referred herself to the PM's ethics adviser after coming under intense pressure to be more transparent about her property arrangements.

Brilliant response to usual scaremongering about rich leaving! In any case, why should the rich be rewarded for bad behaviour? If the rest of us didn’t pay our taxes properly we’d rightfully get in trouble
“Even if 10,000 millionaires had left, thats 0.3% of millionaires in the UK - a tiny fraction. What we at Patriotic Millionaires are more concerned about is the 30% of doctors who say they’re thinking about relocating out of the UK in the next year.”

I & @MaggieOliverUK agree - what’s the point of a costly & lengthy national inquiry when previous inquiries haven’t been implemented, even in part? Local independent inquiries with survivor voices are the best way of proceeding with urgency

Here's the message from Simon Case to civil servants. "It is a shame that I feel I have to spell this out, but my decision is solely to do with my health and nothing to do with anything else."

This is cobblers. The Khan Review, commissioned by a @Conservative government, made these recommendations. Could someone have a quiet word with the interns running this account.
Today’s news is more evidence that Labour hates freedom. This isn’t about people’s health. It’s about social control.

I was at this woman's sentencing on Friday - she was jailed for 20 months The court heard that she was vulnerable and homeless, having recently fled domestic violence. She tagged along with friends to the protest after bumping into them outside a shop https://t.co/gkP044GvWi

Experts raise concerns that speed of court hearings could cloud complex reasons behind large-scale disorder and curtail search for lessons
I actually think this is better than brick in the bollocks guy. She is literally launching herself in a bin that’s on fire so the police can immediately arrest her. There are too many taking the trash out/bin fire jokes here. I can’t stop laughing.

Why, if Matt Goodwin agrees that a descendent of migrants like me is English, does he keep on emphasising that the Southport suspect is the 'child of Rwandan immigrants' if he was born in Wales? I put the question to him on Moral Maze. Listen here:
