Excellent teaching session on oral suctioning by physio @LizEvans023 for our inpatient SLTs this morning. Risk assessment, setting up equipment, using equipment and best practice ✔️ our lovely physio colleagues will then assist with signing off our practical on the wards 😊 #MDT

Speech & language therapists (SLTs) are vital in addressing eating, drinking and swallowing (EDS) difficulties. SLTs work with a healthcare team to offer quality care. EDS problems may signal underlying issues, leading to severe health risks affecting individuals & their families

One of my favourite days of the year - the publication of the Star Awards shortlist. Very proud to see the comms and engagement team shining the year - both as a team and as individuals. Alongside many other colleagues who I know are truly deserving of this recognition 👌🏻👏🏻

Exciting times ahead
End of an era at @SWBHnhs. Started my SLT career at Sandwell & City Hospitals and returned at the start of the pandemic. Last shift on the wards at Sandwell today before it closes on Sunday. Will be working Sunday at @MidlandMetUH as patients are transferred from Sandwell.

The team have been visiting our new Midland Metropolitan Hospital over the last couple of weeks as part of induction ahead of the move. Less than 3 weeks to go now until we're treating patients here! And only 8 weeks until our acute inpatient teams will be working on 1 site 😊

Great to have all our inpatient Specialist SLTs making great progress with their nasendoscopy skills as part of their FEES training. So lovely to see everyone buzzing and enjoying the shared new learning #upskilling #teamdevelopment @SWBHnhs @ibedsSWBH
