Today, Craig & Nina facilitated a Kaizen event for Clinic 3 Lung Function! The team were taught key concepts like value & waste, 5S & set up reduction before a enthused ideas generation session! We can’t wait to see how this work develops, the discussions were inspiring 🤩 #UHCWi

Today at stand up we heard from Paul on how his team has used waste reduction & mistake proofing on reducing reporting time & from Paula on how a waste walk identified wait states in the pressure ulcer incident response for moderate harms & how the PDSA cycle was utilised #UHCWi

At stand-up today we heard from Becky,Sharon,Donna, Marcus,Roxy,Lisa and Naomi about the power of 5s across the EM and Acute Medicine stores. Key takeaway - team engagement has cut the time searching for items - releasing more time to care #UHCWi

Cohorts 1-5 of the UHCW leaders programme came to celebrate this morning. Filled with pride to see the programme that we helped shape, has connected people and built a community of leaders spanning all over the hospital.

@WarwickBSchool A2. As Billy Beane said in the film Moneyball, “It’s a process, it’s a process, it’s a process.” Good outcomes are the result of reliable processes, so begin your measurement there. There’s a lot of latent improvement potential in driving out unwarranted variation

@WarwickBSchool A2. Also thinking about the burden of data collection, encourage use of system data where it is seen as reliable as well as data from direct observation. Data for improvement doesn’t need to be as complex as data for formal research #LeadingQI #QIHour

I remember lots of conversations with great @VM_Institute partners that said that's a great idea, but think smaller #QIhour #LeadingQI

@WarwickBSchool A1: The key to starting is appropriate scoping, we often try to tackle too much. For example, rather than tackling length of stay, tackle arrive on the floor to first mobility (ex: surgical admit). #LeadingQI #QIHour

Leaders showing engaging interest in improvement is key to embed it as an important day to day activity for an organisation, so it was great to see @WorcsAcuteNHS CEO @M_J_Hopkins drop in and chat to the RPIW team focused on consultant recruitment. @WAHTImprove @VM_Institute

@Sutcliffe1987 Hi Lee- think it helps to think in terms of people. People alongside people, albeit with diffnt roles in diffnt contexts, but people with hearts, minds, anxieties. People under diffnt pressures, with life context, varying energy levels. Individual experiences & common humanity...

@KPOteam_SASH @sashnhs Wondering about the impact of sharing failure? I'll always remember a time I stood up in front of a group of senior leaders and told them I'd forgotten to review the work they had submitted. I received applause not condemnation. Massive impact for me #QIHour #LeadingQI

@WarwickBSchool Q4. 'Safe spaces' are created through the consistency of leadership behaviours that establish confidence in individuals and teams that their perspective is valuable. #QIHour #LeadingQI

@Re__Thinking @WarwickBSchool I’ve previously used a simple rules approach to create a ‘team manual’ that could fit on a credit card, so everyone could always have a printed copy with them, but so short you could remember it anyway
