1/ Hello everyone, I’m looking recruit an intern to work with me. I have very clear expectations so carefully read what I am looking for before applying. If we’ve worked together in the past, please spread the word and help me find the right person. 🙏🏽 Let’s begin: 👇

If you only design for what is measurable, you miss what is meaningful. And meaning drives trust and loyalty.

Design systems and patterns are great, until they become selective blindness. To overcome, ask: What is this pattern hiding?

6/ I wrote this down as Clarity & Craft – Part 1 (Clarity) – on building a worldview before you touch a screen. If you like “cheat codes” for understanding people, you might find it useful: https://t.co/HlIKsKk7ch

Part 1 is on clarity: building a worldview before you touch a screen.

5/ When you have that: - You can question a PRD, not just follow it - You stop copying “best practice” screens by default - You add to the product story, not just the UI And speed starts to compound.

4/ That’s where clarity comes in. - Not more data. - Not a nicer PRD. For me, clarity is a cheat code to human behaviour: one clear story in your head about the person on the other side, before you touch a screen.

3/ You’ve got the data, you’ve got the PRD – but do you have a clear narrative in your head? One simple story about what’s going on for the user? Without that, you’re just moving faster, not necessarily in the right direction.

2/ Work hasn’t got easier. Expectations are up, stakes are up, the noise is up. What’s really changed is speed. Weeks of research are now days. Days of exploration are now hours.

1/ I’ve been talking about Clarity & Craft at a few meet-ups lately and thought I’d share some notes from these talks. Thread:

Taste is a recurring theme in the age of AI. Yet, it remains an abstract concept for many. Here’s my attempt to demystify it, help you build it, and apply it in your work. https://t.co/fqb90cyoGi

My research into ‘how ideas form’ (physiologically speaking) took an odd but fascinating detour into “why we laugh.” And strangely, the connection between the two feels obvious in hindsight. Wrote a short reflection on it. Here’s the link: https://t.co/bLqxKeocLU

“User experience” used to mean making things easy to use. Now it means making things so engaging that you accomplish everything except what you came to do
