Due to the reduction in NIH indirect overhead charges to 15%, we are cutting all administrative support to grants. It’s the one way to keep the VPR’s office open.

I feel incredibly fortunate to work with such an amazing group of scientists. I walked into our lab meeting today to find a surprise 10th anniversary breakfast they had prepared—it meant the world ! And of course, we couldn't resist diving into an exciting science presentation,

With the new academic year starting, and many people beginning fresh as graduate students, post-docs, or junior faculty, I have been thinking a lot about the core philosophies that govern my own perspectives on science. So I thought I would share. Welcome to The Tao of Cheese

Three @UMich researchers received awards from @NIH’s prestigious High-Risk, High-Reward Research program, which supports investigators who propose innovative research that may struggle in the traditional NIH peer-review process due to its inherent risk.

Sadly, we still default to granting more respect to men than women. 8 studies: we're >2x as likely to call male politicians, athletes, teachers, and authors by their last names. It matters: surnames signal higher status. It's long past time to use consistent standards.
