Breathtaking historical illiteracy or a deliberate attempt by the WHO to rewrite history? . The reality is that rampant infant malnutrition and its complications in the 18th/19th centuries is what led to the development of formula milk in Europe in the 19th century.

'Shamanistic' 👌 😆. Great phrase for many of the claims made about breastfeeding by our health authorities, who should be restricting themselves to evidence-based medicine. I also like @DrAnnieHickox's 'folklore' and 'oxytocin waffle' courtesy @drruthannharpur 🧇.
@LdnNeonatal Awful to see the London ODN, supposedly a medical scientific body rather than a shamanistic one, put forward assertions based on low grade evidence. Communicate results of the many useful cohort studies & RCTs on breastmilk for preterms rather than waffle about love & connection.
