Why is @GovernorShapiro so scared to stand up to PA House Leader Matt Bradford? . @PaHouseDems are holding up this budget. @PASenateGOP passed SEPTA funding and funding for state services, but House Dems shot both bills down. Where’s the leadership?.

@PAHouseGOP and @PASenateGOP should demand accountability from school districts if the legislature sends out more $$$. We know @PaHouseDems and @PaSenateDems won’t. District advocates want more accountability from cyber charters but balk if you suggest the same for them.

Do we REALLY believe that district advocates will stop crying for more money if/when they receive those $4.5 billion in adequacy payments? No, because it’s never enough. They want more money while also stealing money from other sects of students that deserve fair funding, too.

School district advocates continually say “Fund our public schools” but want to cut funding to one sect of public schools—cyber charters. When is enough finally enough? PA House Dems want to saddle PA taxpayers with $4.5 billion more in “adequacy” payments to districts.

The “party of public education” (@PaHouseDems) only cares about district students. To hell with charter students. @PASenateGOP - keep fighting for ALL options.

School districts in PA can’t think of permanent fixes to their problems to attract families back to the district, so they appeal to the PA legislature to cut funding to those educational options that work better for students. It’s about protecting systems. Not kids.

So, @PaHouseDems, your caucus and school districts bemoan cyber charter costs, but then districts say they can offer $2,000 to families who choose to re-enroll in the district. Make it make sense, please.

If school districts actually cared about bringing families back from a charter, cyber charter, private, etc., they’d take a serious look at why anyone chooses to voluntarily leave the district. Bribing cyber charter families shows how unserious they are.

Cyber charters need to use the per-student tuition rate to create curriculum, pay their staff, ship tech, etc. Can you see now how it can quickly get costly to run a cyber charter? . @PASenateGOP @PaHouseDems @PAHouseGOP @PaSenateDems @GovernorShapiro @PaEdChoice.

Districts will often tell legislators that it only costs a fraction to educate a student in their cyber academies than it does in a cyber charter. What they don’t mention is that they often only include the cost of the program itself.

Some of those similar expenses include paying a competitive salary and benefits. That’s not cheap. Additionally, they must ship technology across the state, which is again, not cheap. Their footprint is state-wide as opposed to a tiny fraction of the state. These costs add up.

Instead of analyzing their own spending, school district leaders look to take from other students. A note to the 500 school districts in PA: cyber charter parents pay taxes, too. Their kids also deserve fair funding. @shesanti @YDelko @PaEdChoice @PASenateGOP @Malliard

Shapiro and the House Democrats are beholden to their union overlords and will do whatever to appease them even if that means harming children in the process. We need @GarrityForPA.

Stark contrast: While Trump's @USEdGov works to promote charter schools options, @GovernorShapiro & @PaHouseDems are trying to cripple cyber charter schools in PA. #SchoolChoiceNow.

The PA House Democratic majority has Shapiro by the balls. He can’t sway his own party and get them in line with his priorities.

"I think the House Democrats have dug their heels in. I think the governor's trying to pull them in a different direction, but I'm not sure he's able to do it right now, and I just don't see an end in sight until some people start to say yes to good public.

Never going away. @SenatorPittman, @SenatorKimWard, and @SenatorMartinPA, please keep fighting for our cyber charter schools in this budget. We know our @PASenateGOP fights for school choice, so please don’t let the Dems get their way and cripple one of those choices!.

Tie adequacy payments to enrollment. If a district is being held harmless and losing kids, why do they need an adequacy payment? . @PASenateGOP @SenatorPittman @SenatorMartinPA @SenatorKimWard.

Instead of sending millions in “adequacy supplements” to PA school districts each year, why doesn’t the legislature pay attention to enrollment trends and adjust accordingly? . Why are we sending $5 billion in “adequacy payments” to districts that are losing kids?.
