We started working on this a few years and were able to go in and run it in our kilo lab. Watching the product crystallize was a great day showing we had the tools to develop base metal catalysis directly to our projects #BMSChemistry #ProudToBeBMS.
I see a pattern here. happy to share another story about advancing Base Metal Catalysis on scale! This time, a Ni-Borylation followed by a Pd-Suzuki coupling, Ni and Pd can definitely be friends 😊 Congrats to all the co-authors! #BMSChemistry

Awesome work by Reggie to dive into this methodology and mechanistic study - elevating Ni catalysis to a new level! Great collaboration between @ChirikGroup and #BMSChemistry.
Activation of nickel(II) is often-ignored in nickel(I/III) cross-coupling. For (FI)nickel(II), we show that well defined organometallic steps form nickel(0), enabling catalyst “activation” that recovers catalysis when radical side-reactions go off-course.
