some photos of the Chamonix expedition i did with my 20 y.o. son last month. "non-technical mid-high altitude walking with no glaciated traverses, via ferrata or other terrain requiring ropes, axes, crampons and the associated subjective and objective risks"

Cotham Church has a memorial to the marian martyrs burned to death there for heresy; these two men deserve something similar
An important document revealing the tragic story of two men executed in Bristol in 1753 has been revealed https://t.co/761MO24r4A

this is not just a pavement, it is the main signed walking/cycling route between cabot circus and the city centre. They've just blocked a key bike route
Lots of people have been in touch about @JCDecaux_UK's massive & very shit new billboard at Cabot Circus. The ad screen was rejected by Bristol council in 2018 but approved by a national planning body - all details in @beardedjourno's article 😞

better: tax class A/EVs on weight -1900, 2400, 2900 ... (1900 as tesla Y will qualify, VW ID.3 won't). then do some tangible things to improve cycling, like make gloucester road/cheltenham road/stokes croft somewhere you could feel safe on

The author says a rise in WFH is a factor, even though that probably cut peak motor traffic more than anything the council has done on active travel over the last 20 years

don't agree with this: it's clearly for money rather than active travel -you can see this where they bemoan the fact that cash will flow in slowly over the year. And it treats the owner of a class A prius the same as that of a Tesla Model X https://t.co/GULhsr5UpR

Now I know that buying a copy of the @secrettory12 book will bring cash to the welsh hinterlands rather than pay off Truss and Kwarteng's cocaine debts, I shall buy a copy. Then when I gatecrash a 2024 Rees-Mogg election husting I'll ask him to sign it dedicated to begbie

Adblock and 20 other grassroots groups could receive support from Bristol Redistro this year 🙌 Could you help raise the extra 5K funding needed so that every group has a boost for community action this year? 👇🧡
