We often talk about how much Irish GDP data is distorting Eurozone economic statistics, but can we stop for a second to appreciate the impact of Spanish employment numbers? 80% of all Eurozone employment in the past three quarters come from Spain😮😮😮

ELECTRICITY DEMAND: White Houses pushes plan (below) to force data centers / AI companies to pay for the construction of new power plants. The plan would see the nation’s biggest grid operator, PJM, holding an emergency auction for tech companies to bid for long-term contracts.

The human brain runs on glucose. Artificial intelligence runs on electricity. One evolved over millions of years to extract energy from food. The other depends entirely on power grids and hardware. Two forms of “intelligence,” two completely different fuels.

The next five years are going to be very interesting for natural gas… Revolution #1: Massive increases to U.S. compute infrastructure driving huge increases to natural gas sourced grid power. Large data center completions were doubling every 4 years, but AI has compressed this

When you look just at electricity generation the news is better. Fossil fuel % should drop below 50% next year.

Useful chart. Euro is very strong against almost all of East Asia these days -- no real mystery why Europe's trade balance would be slipping but for tax driven Irish pharma ... 1/2

The AUD has only been this weak against the EUR once — for a few months during the GFC. The only reason I can see is the weak property market but at these levels foreign buyers will start stepping in…

Just a few minutes after the Online Safety Act went into effect last night, Proton VPN signups originating in the UK surged by more than 1,400%. Unlike previous surges, this one is sustained, and is significantly higher than when France lost access to adult content.

We are on track to double our impact in 2025. The 30 Cities program should enable us to keep this growth rate going in the coming years.

Calling c the "speed of light" completely misses the point. Rather, c is the "spacetime exchange rate": how many units of space you can exchange for one unit of time. In actuality, everything travels at the "speed of light", just not necessarily through space alone... (1/4)
