While I empathize with the power users since I'm kind of one, if MS listen to the power users and windows return to windows 7 style without any AI features, it's gonna lose (assume you can only pick one side). So it's only natural MS is pushing it (just look at android/iOS...)

I just watched a video which talked about how marvel decided to cater to the adult and collector market and thus lose to manga aka teen market, aka the future. I think I'm witnessing a similar pattern here. Power users is like marvel collector, active AI users is the manga reader
Jeez there so many cynics! It cracks me up when I hear people call AI underwhelming. I grew up playing Snake on a Nokia phone! The fact that people are unimpressed that we can have a fluent conversation with a super smart AI that can generate any image/video is mindblowing to me.

This. If FE and the shell and current search has no issues, the reception would have been much more reasonable. While I appreciate the constant QoL improvement, they still have a long way to go in terms of fixing perf issues and fully replacing the old with new tech

.NET keeps getting faster every release. C# is open source, the runtime is open source, and you can use it anywhere. If you want a future-proof language for your next project, C# can be a fantastic choice.

It might flop. Still trying to figure out who this is aimed at. Do PC gamers want less powerful pre-built PCs with less freedom and minimal customization options? Will it have games built to utilize the hardware or is it just a launcher box?

One thing I noticed reading HN on the .Net 10 thread is other people seem to always look at use-case when picking language, instead of looking at the langauge per-se. Like, why C#? Coz frontend and game dev. Not becoz it's type safe, compile-time source gen, etc. Food for thought
