This is the closest I've ever had to a viral tweet, and OF COURSE I did an edit on the fly before hitting send that screwed up the second sentence! Sigh.
More children to adopt is not a silver lining. It's a tragedy. Adoption finds families for children who NEED them, not to create need, so families that WANT them can adopt. Coercing pregnant women to give birth so you can adopt her child is manufacturing, not social welfare.

Last week, SCOTUS judge Barrett questioned whether abortion was needed because of "safe haven" laws that make relinquishing a child for adoption easier. We are an adoptee group who firmly supports the right to choose an abortion. Adoption is NOT an alternative to abortion.
