Really out of shape these days. Not enough bicycling, walking is nice but not good enough for me. Weeks of sickness/injured ankle/going on vacation/etc have conspired to trash my cycling performance. Time to get it back. longer morning treks at least 3x/week.

Definitely the biggest AI advancement I've seen this year is Claude Code and MCP. The combination of these two feels like talking to the Starship Enterprise main computer once you write an MCP server giving it enough access to your environment.

Then again there was a part of the lecture I didn't fully grasp where they claim the energy required to distort spacetime isn't quite as horrific as it sounds. So they might be wrong or they might be making a groundbreaking discovery here.

Their paper I discusses with Claude Sonnet 4 a bit for giggles. The AI model is unconvinced. I'm not qualified to comment but I thought that was interesting. Matter creates gravity easily because it's actually super energy dense (from E=mc^2).

Haven't been paying attention to the Fusion stuff these days, but Greg Hodgin at Shore Leave 45 gave an engaging lecture on Zero Carbon Institute's demonstration of space-time distortion using a spark plug (at 400Kvolts) and a laser.
