@Oklo COO/cofounder. MIT/Oklahoma engineer. We’re working on clean power plants and recycling nuclear waste with advanced fission.
Joined November 2011
So like just to be clear, if you're worried about nuclear waste, you literally *want* fast reactors asap. That is the one way to consume the waste and reduce the lifetime it needs to be stored. (And btw they make clean electricity, in case you're also worried about environment.).

Did you know the Oklo family of companies has six distinct regulatory licensing processes involving nrc and doe or both?. 1) Aurora inl powerhouse.2) Aurora fuel fab.3) large scale fuel fab.4) recycling.5) isotope reactor.6) isotope facility. Check out the dashboard for details:.
The regulatory process can be complex, so we made it easier to follow. Our new dashboard tracks key steps across our powerhouses, fuel recycling, and isotope production efforts—all in one place. Explore the dashboard: .

It was surreal to be able to be in the West Wing yesterday, but far more so, it was surreal to see these historic changes for nuclear deployment come to pass. I think the last time i was in the White House was when Obama held a nuclear roundtable. From Obama to Trump 1 to Biden
🇺🇸From the White House: Oklo CEO Jacob DeWitte joined President Trump today as he signed Executive Orders to fast-track nuclear deployment, including regulatory path, fuel, and sites. 🎥 Watch Jake’s remarks: More on today’s announcement:

The industry relies on thinking that the public thinks that the NRC is a "gold standard" and ensures safety. Believe it or not, that leads to utility-funded industry institutes defending the regulator. I'm not so sure. On one hand, anti-nuclear advocates (to the extent they are.
Do you think the public would call the NRC a "gold standard" regulator?. (Also, do you know if there's any polling on this?).

MYTH 1: recycling nuclear waste (used nuclear fuel) is illegal in the US. It isn't. MYTH 2: it can't be cost competitive. Recycling waste is not so cost efficient for conventional reactors, but it *is* for fast reactors, which can fission the higher order actinides. MYTH 3:.
💡Did you know there’s enough used fuel in the U.S. to power the country for over 150 years?. One major step towards utilizing this untapped power is in the fuel recycling process. We couldn’t be more excited for Congressman Bob Latta (@boblatta) and Congressman Scott Peters

Long out of favor, nuclear power is suddenly facing a much brighter future. The bull case for Constellation Energy and Vistra.

A fun Motley Fool piece:.
"You probably know Sam Altman’s AI organization, but he’s also the chairman of Oklo, an advanced nuclear technology company. Ricky Mulvey caught up with Oklo’s CEO, Jake DeWitte, for a conversation about: .- Why the buildout of nuclear energy stagnated and why that could change.
