We’re excited to partner with
@Immutable
and provide attribution and growth analytics tools for their ecosystem.
Immutable is the leading gaming platform for studios and developers to safely and confidently build and launch games on Ethereum.
Whether you’re building a web3 game, a DeFi protocol, or an NFT marketplace, Spindl will tell you where your users are coming from, how much value they’re adding, & how long they’re sticking around.
Join us in bringing a billion users onto the best version of the internet.
BREAKING
We're partnering with
@layer3xyz
, a questing platform, to measure the value they drive to Web 3 projects.
This is only possible due the unique properties of Web 3, where a publisher can reach down the user funnel and see what their users did.
🚀 This two-way integration empowers developers and marketers to easily figure out where their mobile app installs are coming from (
@AppsFlyer
), and how well those users are monetizing and sticking around on-chain (Spindl).
We’re excited to announce that
@spindl_xyz
is partnering with leading mobile measurement platform
@AppsFlyer
to unify Web2 and Web3 attribution.
For the first time, game developers can tell which channels are driving new users and how well they’re engaging onchain, seamlessly.
Today,
@BuildOnBase
mainnet is open for everyone, and
@spindl_xyz
is there to help builders drive and measure their growth.
This is a big, big deal for those who think ‘onchain is the new online.’

The CAC on airdrops right now would make any performance marketing expert cry, especially given bot prevalence.
New protocols will start to optimize this based on proven ROI.
@layer3xyz
This would have been inconceivable in Web 2: there would have been no way for Facebook to independently judge how much value they were driving to (say) Walmart.
But in Web 3, the publisher can permissionlessly measure how much value (and where) they're driving.
That's insane.
We’re excited to join W3GC to support the web3 games ecosystem with attribution and accurate measurement!
Performance marketing is the back bone of growth for web2 games and we’ll enable the same for web3.
Marketing can rarely make up for a bad product, but even a good product isn’t guaranteed to win with bad (or non-existent) marketing.
We’re thrilled to announce we’ve partnered with
@serotonin_hq
to supercharge the way they serve their clients.
1/ Today, we’re excited to announce that Serotonin and
@spindl_xyz
have partnered to expand web3 attribution and measurement, towards a shared vision of bringing data-first marketing to web3 💫🧵
@layer3xyz
Here you see Layer 3 measuring what fraction of wallet engagement they drove for Coinbase's new L2 Base, by each of their questing campaigns.
This could be expanded to every downstream partner, and to any publisher that's wallet-aware, the blockchain serving as common database.
Happy to welcome Rohan Meringenti to Spindl as a full-stack engineer. He joins us from the Coinbase crypto team where he worked on key management.
We're still hiring in multiple roles:
@layer3xyz
When Spindl started, we assumed clients would mostly be developers looking to see where their users came from and how long they stuck around.
In reality, as many publishers and aggregators use us as apps: the blockchain as common database makes whole new measurement possible.

In the early days of the internet, attribution and user measurement barely existed at all, as most sales didn’t happen online, and anyhow there was no way to feed that result into that period’s primitive ad networks.
Infra providers like
@thirdweb
change that entire dynamic. By providing their clients with a standard and comprehensive menu of smart contracts, not only is it much easier to build on-chain, it’s also easier for partners (like Spindl) to work with developers using their contracts
With Spindl, game developers on Immutable get actionable insights to measure, grow, and monetize their game.

Spindl can slice engagement and monetization data a million ways, looking at advertiser value, or the value a publisher drives downstream to the chain itself.
Here's the impact Coinbase Quests had with the OP quests they just launched.
Anyone onchain can use Spindl.
Onboarding a new attribution client at Spindl is relatively effortless to the developer, but can be onerous to Spindl.
We have to map their real-world business—game-play actions or complex financial transactions—to what’s happening on their deployed smart-contracts.
To prove the ease of ingesting a thirdweb app on Spindl, we did a quick little hackathon for a game they developed to show the capabilities of their infra: Web 3 Warriors
The game incorporated onchain elements like wallet integration, gasless transactions, & skinned in-game NFTs

Instead, you had ‘analytics’: the measurement of what the user did on your website, with some crude notion of user identity, tied to recently-invented cookies, and that’s about it.
Web3 is in a similarly nascent state.

Given the embryonic state of smart-contract development and the lack of standards there, that can often be a data science puzzle that takes many hours to decipher.

This is more than just another chain.
Base, incubated by
@coinbase
, aims to offer Web 3 builders something unique: integrations with Coinbase products, ability to serve users in the Coinbase ecosystem, and a low-fee L2 environment built on the OP stack.
To provide attribution (and soon, analytics) to a Spindl client, we index subgraphs of the relevant blockchain, threading together both on-chain web3 events and off-chain web2 events to generate a coherent user journey.

There’s of course a third player in this analysis:
@BuildOnBase
, the new L2 incubated by Coinbase. How did they fare?
The game generated about 1.6 Eth of Base transactions, and about 1 Eth in L1/Ethereum transactions.
